Bought for farther in law as his original swatch had given up the ghost after 20yrs. It took a bashing being tractor mechanic. He wanted next to the same watch from 20yrs ago. Fits like a glove because of the semi ridged moulding strap . Good colour. Easy to read because of his age and eye sight and illuminated hands. Overall a good replacement for the last one.

Having purchased two of these watches for myself and eldest child they are a good choice with clear dials. Only thing is the mechanism is very noisy. I have had them in the past and they last a long while, but straps can wear fast. I must be happy to have re-purchased.
Clean easily read face, simple watch as required with no gimmicky extras, nice and light weight too.
Only thing I don't like is the noise from the mechanism. In fact the noise seems louder than my previous watch some 20yrs ago!

I bought this as a replacement swatch for my husband, a farmer. This Swatch is about the only watch he can manage not to destroy in minutes on the farm. It is slim, so doesnt catch easily, the strap has enough flexibility not to snap when his muscles expand and the face is clear and easy to read, especially in low light. Hoping this will do several years hard wearing before the next replacement is needed.

I wanted a watch that was slightly bigger than the usual ladies size but not as big as a mans - this is just right.
It has a white face with black figures and they stand out really well. Complimented by a black strap that isnt the usual hard plastic. It is nice and soft and has plenty of holes in the strap to adjust how tight I want it. The main feature for me is the day/date display. That is really why I chose this watch. Other watches have had this feature but the display has been so small that I have needed a magnifying glass to read it. This display is covered by its own magnification and is brilliant. A small hiccup when it arrived - the day/date was not showing the correct day or date and I couldnt seem to change it although I followed the instructions to the letter. However I do have severe arthritis in my hands so my partner tried and eventually he did change it. He says it is just getting the knack of doing it but I will leave it to him to change if needed. i.e. at the end of a 30 day month. Altogether I am delighted with this watch and the price is very reasonable. It would be nice if other colours were available - I would buy them.

A problem with altering the details on the watch is possibly a result of mass production (it happens in all walks of life) but as it is an important part of why I chose this model it is either a case of fixing it or getting another watch. watch Shop are being excellent in addressing this situation.

This is my favourite watch, and Im so glad it is still available. It is clear, practical, and lasts well. When the battery runs out, it is easy to change. The only drawback is that the plastic strap breaks after about 3 or 4 years of use. But I reckon thats fair enough, and am happy to pay another £30 to buy a new one. And until the new one arrives, I have a pocket watch instead of one on my wrist.
A replacement for one I had for at least ten years. Good to look at, simple to use the winder does everything.

I received my new Swatch today which replaced my original one which I purchased over twenty years ago. It finally stopped a month ago as a result of damp and wet conditions, usually when strapped to the handlebars of my mountain bike. The only money I spent on it was to replace the strap twice and batteries.
Comparing the new model with the old, I much prefer the font used on the new model, especially now that they are vertical. I always found the figures pointing inwards a bit odd i.e. digits 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 being upside down. The day/date magnification works well so does the white figures on a black background. Finally the matt black case matches the strap much better.

This is a very comfortable watch. Nice to wear, easy read dial, lightweight, classic and waterproof at the same time. If you want a simple watch with sweep second hand and date, this ones for you! I also prefer the mens size to the ladies, looks great on small wrist.
I ordered a Swatch watch and arranged to collect it in a Goldsmiths shop. It was tracked and I was informed of where it was on its journey, every step of the way. The service was superb and it all worked like clockwork.

Specifically wanted a watch which has a day and date facility and second hand. I wear varifocal glasses and clarity is paramount. My wife, daughter and daughter-in-law all have Swatch watches. This watch meets all those requirements. Particularly like the large numbers on the clock face and the magnifying facility on the day/date part of the watch. Watch is lovely and clear.

This is a good everyday watch. It has a clear large face with a date/day function. I have had several of these watches over many years. They keep time very accurately. For the price, they are excellent value. Your description does not indicate that they also have luminous hands which is a bonus.

The watch is what I was looking for. Simple, small and not obtrusive. The date is clearly visible and luminous.
Watch arrived promptly and time, date and day set. However disappointed about the complete lack of scratch resistance of the face of the watch. after only a short time the face is now scratched despite being careful with it.

The watch is for my son who has a reaction on his skin if he wears a metal backed watch so this swatch being plastic backed- apart from the battery cover- will hopefully prevent that re occurring. Its a very simple and no fuss display which is what we wanted. Tells analogue time day and date and nothing else.
Bump on glass cover over date is really pronounced. Didnt like it. Returned for Twice Again. Other than that a good smallish watch.

I have had Swatch Watches beforehand they are great timekeepers - their straps have been thei vulnerability to me - they eventually fall to pieces. This watch is similar in that respect but hopefully the strap will outlast the others. This watch has a big bump of plastic on the face to magnify the day date and whilst it does what it says it is a bit inelegant as it looks like half a cylinder glued to the face. If they had rounded off the ends it would have been beter
The watch is great and this is the 4th replacement I have had for this particular watch. However, the watch strap buckle is now dreadful and I have broken 3 in the 8 months. If Swatch would go back to using the old buckle I would go back to giving the watch and excellent rating.

The instruction leaflet is complicated and misleading. I assume a cover on all models of Swatch.I needed a magnifying glass to read the print.

Its a really nice classic watch, really clear with the date and great that it has the day on it too also the hands and dots for each hour glow in the dark which is a useful bonus

The Swatch once again is a favourite of mine. I bought this one as a back up because I cant believe my present one can go on forever and I cant bear the thought of living without it. It keeps perfect time, can be used swimming and shower and seems to have a battery life forever.
Watch seems fine - had several of these over the years - but the buckle has broken within the first week. Particularly annoying as I am now on holiday with no chance of a replacement until I return. Makes me question my allegiance to Swatch.

I had this watch over twenty five years ago, great to see it reissued. I love it, ticks all my boxes. It is very, very light, easy to read the day date, did I say I love? I have several other watches but wear this most of he time.
Non positives, setting is a little fiddely, it is quite loud and the buckle is a tadd flimsy all in all a great casual watch, would definatley recommend.
Less than 4 months since purchase the watch can no longer be worn because the small part which fastens into the hole to secure the strap has broken off. I would not recommend this product.

We liked this watch - understated excellence and no bling. The feature magnifying the date window is clever but quite subtle.
I wanted an everyday work/casual, no nonsense watch on which the dial was plain and clear to see at a glance. This watch offers me that, and in addition it has a magnified day and date inset on the face, which in turn is clear and easy to see with a cursory glance. When the watch arrived I was pleased that the features were exactly as the image portrayed in the on line catalogue. I am not too sure at the moment whether the strap will be robust enough but that remains to be seen However, that is the only concern. Everything else is spot on.

i have been asking swatch many years ago to make this very simple day/date watch black surround /white face with a bigger face. ie being nearer to a easy reader type watch. no wonder it is good seller. bigger size face please.
Very pleased with this watch which was bought as an 18th birthday present for my son. Slim stylish watch, very clear face, comfortable strap. Ideal for my son who has a slim wrist and hates heavy, chunky watches. Useful to have date on the watch as well. Only slight criticism would be the raised bubble over the date. Would definitely recommend as stylish and excellent value.
I ordered the swatch watch for my husband as he had one many years ago. Its great as an everyday watch, since its got a plastic strap, its easy to clean. Its just what he wanted. Some reviews say the strap is a little short, we didnt find that, my husband has an average sized wrist.
I bought this watch for my husbands birthday and he absolutely loves it! He had the same one bought for a birthday a few years ago and was gutted when he lost it during a recent visit to the gym. He said it was the best watch he had ever had and would buy the same one again. He didnt have to as I got it for him! He likes the simplicity of the plain white face and easy to read numbers. Although the plastic strap can wear more quickly than a leather one, as the watch is totally waterproof there is no need to keep taking it on and off, which is what wears out the strap. Being plastic, it means my allergy to most metals is no longer a problem. More than happy to recommend to anyone.
I had a swatch watch very similar 25years ago. Like most things in life you trust what you know and was not disappointed with the product. I do wish the watch came in more colours as i choose black but would prefer red. The annoying loud ticking hasnt changed and brings back fond childhood memories. I bought it for my father as some watch faces are either far too small or look as though youve stolen Flava Flavs famous timepiece. However Swatch have found a good size I also have a Swatch Irony.
Easy to adjust the time, date both date and day and has a quiet tick.

This is the first watch Ive worn in about ten years, ever since my mobile phone took care of timekeeping. Its taken a bit of time to get used to the ticking, which seems surprisingly loud to ears that arent sensitized to the sound, but otherwise Im very pleased with the design and quality of the watch. The design is attractive, understated and neutral despite being very light, the materials feel like theyre of a high quality.

I bought this as a cheapish watch with day+date display and unfussy face. It works of course, as all watches do. Not quite as elegant a design as expected, and the raised magnifying part of the plastic glass seems unnecessary.

The watch is very comfortable and easy to read, but the only problem might be the length of the strap for some people. It is fine for me but it is on the last hole so it would not fit men with extra large wrists.

The watch is very good and I havent found any faults with the watch so far. The fact it is water resistant means I dont have to worry about a little amount of water getting splashed onto the watch. I like the design and it has been made from a well known watch brand swatch.

This was a replacement watch for one of precisely the same model which had many years of use before giving up the ghost. So quite happy to buy another. Nice big figures on a clear dial with day and date. Completely waterproof so no need to take it off for showering or swimming.

I cannot live without this watch!! Since retiring 8 years ago I NEED to know the DAY and DATE! This is the 6th Swatch watch I've had over the years and always have the same one. If there's one thing I don't like about it is the last 2 I've had have raised glass over the date and day, whereas my previous ones were sompletely smooth. At only £25 ish it gives me a good clear to see watch, with the day and date, what more can I ask!

The Swatch is exactly as expected in terms of appearance. The one slightly surprising feature is the strap, which has fittings which do not allow the watch to "lie flat" on a surface when removed which gives me the feeling that it was not designed quite correctly. As an engineer, it grates.

Clear, easy to read watch. There's a little lens built into the "glass" that makes the day & date larger so very readable. Clever design has separate access to change the battery so that's easy & doesn't compromise the water-proofing.

This watch is very smart, with an appealing black and white design. If I was to be critical, I don't think the "magnifying glass" over the day/date feature is really necessary and, for me, it detracts from the overall appearance.

I bought my last Swatch in 1989, it had been my constant WORKING companion until I lost it recently, I'm not sure how many new straps I have had but if only I had d a worn one recently it would still be on my wrist. I miss it, however the ment more than makes up for the loss, it felt right from day one, (I'm subconsciously looking for the old one)!

Beautifully simple, with a well designed face and useful day and date feature this is a great watch, just as expected. The watch feels to be of very good quality including the strap, which is made of a stiffer plastic than I expected including has an interesting hinge design, fitting comfortably around the wrist nonetheless. Overall, very impressed so far, everything one could want from a simple watch at a great price!
My girlfriend (now my wife) brought me a swatch watch almost identical to this over 25 years ago, I have worn this since and needed to replace it as the plastic around the battery had become brittle, I searched the internet for a replacement and found this which is almost identical and am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to another 25 years of use.
Practical watch. Only issue is the strap length which won't accomodate larger wrists.
With a white face, black numerals and minute marks it is very easy to read, keeps accurate time and, crucially for me, tells me both the day and the time. The sweep second hand is not important to me but may be to others.
I have a number of 'quality' watches, mainly Omega but for every day use I use a Mens Swatch 'Once Again Watch GB743'. I'm now on my second one. The first one which has been subjected to much physical abuse (bricks, mortar etc) is presently have a refurb and will be back in action shortly! The timekeeping on this particular model is fantastic, the design is plain and simple with easy to read numerals. I have nothing but praise for this hard wearing good looking watch.

I bought it to replace a worn out Timex for my husband. This Swatch is the same as the one my friend lost. He has had it for many years and had often said it is the best watch in the world. As he lost it on a boating holiday on my narrow boat I wanted to replace it. He is over the moon.
Simple, easy to read, and if you forget to take it off when you go for a swim or a shower it doesn't matter, because it's waterproof. Not a flashy watch or a fashion accessory, just a timepiece that works.
Only criticism: the plastic wrist strap is stiff and uncomfortable at first.

This is my second watch of this model and at there is no contest. Simple, clear, beyond style and immensely functional and...cheap; I love it.
The first swatch watch, (GB743 classic all plastic with magnified date and time with I think, a black face) I bought 14 years ago for my son’s school trip to India. He immediately cut off the straps and carried it in his pocket. The consequence was that it was always going through the washing machine when he got back. He likes the watch because :
1) It is plastic, works all over India in the heat and the cold Himalayas.
2) He climbed all over, South Africa, France, Turkey, India, Nepal, America and felt safe wearing or carrying it.
3) He has managed to arrive on time and on the correct day for his many flights and boats.
4) However, the face screen does scratch on rock faces and yacht winches but is unaffected by Bentley dealers in Berkeley square, Sotheby’s greeters, and afternoon teas in Mayfair.

Exactly as expected. A basic lack Swatch watch wit day/dat facility. Light as a feather and comfortable to wear. Oh, and accurate as well.
The watch works fine, but the strap is useless as it broke after 1 months use. Guess what? the strap is not covered by the guarantee, so I have had to buy a new strap. Appalling that the strap, which is made by SWATCH, is not covered by guarantee when it obviously has such a design flaw.
It takes a while for the date to change after midnight. A bit small and might resemble a watch for children. Looks a bit cheap. The date is set by pulling the crown halfway out and twisting it up or downwards. The time is set by pulling it all way out and twisting upwards. A good buy considering the low price. Might be useful to have as a second watch you don't need to be afraid to lose.

I work in a microbiology lab and have to wash my hands about 20 times a day. I have some very expensive watches that really don't suit getting wet as they irritate the skin. This watch is ideal for me. It has a plain white face with black hindu-arabic numerals. It is ideal for dyslexics like me. It doesn't say that I'm a wannabee action man who could kill you with the touch of a little finger. It is a cool watch. So cool that my twenty year old niece, who is a student, asked if she could have my ten year old black swatch. I only bought a new one because the strap retainer had perished after ten years of getting wet twenty times a day. This watch is great design, and I will buy an identical one in ten years time.

So I needed a simple, reliable and inexpensive watch to wear for knocking about. This fited the bill so well - and it is sylish and iconic to boot! This watch design was ahead of its time when it was first designed and it still looks so GOOD - ideal for for the iPod generation! In fact its status has to be up there with the iPod. Just because these are inexpensive does not mean Swatches are cheap and nasty - I feel at home wearing this despite owning two Breitlings.
For me this has the original Swatch look - simple, clean, no fuss and understated. It is a bit like a VW Golf. Well made and you could be anyone from a Dustman to a Duke in owning one.

This is the second model GB743 Swatch watch I have bought in 6 months. The first was so practical, tough and easy to replace a battery, that I impulsively gave it to my son at Heathrow minutes before he departed for a 3 month backpacking trip around South America.
