It's accurate, a nice size on the wrist and just what I wanted as an informal watch to replace my previous Hamilton, which lasted 55 years.

Only had the watch a week so far but it is a very nice and affordable automatic watch, nice size as well, as my wrists aren't very large the 38mm size is perfect.

First off I need to mention how flawless watch ships service is, Ive ordered watches from them before and there always well packaged and delivered extremely fast! The Hamilton khaki field automatic is a well appointed military style watch thats rugged enough for your outdoors activitys yet can easily be dressed up for a formal occasion. Everything on the watch from the crown to the bueatiful leather strap is amazing and sturdy, the movement of the crown also feels really tactile and smooth just generally lovely to use! The black dial is extremely easy to read with all the numbers and hands in loom, the dial is split into three bands which helps the readability too. This watch has some bueatiful touches too from its engraving of Hamilton on the rotor which can be seen through its glass back to its little red pointer on the seconds hand, it really is a stunning watch to see and Ive had numerous complements while wearing it. Its timekeeping has been very good too with it being +10/-10 seconds a day slow or fast which for an automatic that hasnt been regulated is very accurate! Over all I couldnt be happier with this amazing Hamilton and would recommend it to anyone that has an eye for vintage style

I was looking for a watch that was tough, waterproof and had a simple elegance to it. The black faced automatic khaki field watch fits the bill perfect. I has kept perfect time too and will be worn everywhere from work train driver, nightsout, hillwalking in all weathers and running about daft with the dog down the beach and the woods. I was looking for one watch that wasnt too big or macho bulky and would fit the bill to be worn the moment i step out the shower in the morning until i go to bed. This is it. I cant take my eyes off it, its a very attractive looking watch.

Great watch for the money

Great value watch. Excellent quality and timekeeping. The base ETA 2824 movement is used in many watches twice the price and does not disappoint. Leather strap is awesome. Very high quality and very thick. Great entrance into the world of real watches!

I researched the watch before buying and since it's a new watch everything was as expected. And slightly surprised by leather band high quality.

Great Automatic watch for the money. Especially I was surprised by the leather band quality.
Very well made. Starts up thick near to the watch face and slims down by the buckle so its not too bulky when you rest your hand on the table.
Crown is bit bigger then on my previous quarts watch but I guess its because its automatic movement and you can wind it up manually hence easier with the bigger crow.
Illumination of hands and numbers is quiet bright. Overall Im pleased with the watch.

great watch for the price

This watch really took my eye on the WATCH SHOP pages and I wasnt disappointed when I received it. It shows its quality without being in any way blingy, in fact it is understated. Having a smaller wrist I chose the 38mm watch and it fits me well but those with larger wrists can have the watch with a 42mm case. I chose the brown leather strap but black is also available. I especially like the big crown and the red-tipped second hand. I cant see any bad points for this watch. The watch movement is the widely used and reliable Swiss ETA 2824-2. At this price point the watch is a steal. Many watches of lesser quality cost more.

An excellent product at a reasonable price

Excellent watch. As it has an automatic winding mechanism, my research suggested to help achieve maximum accuracy, get the power reserve up to the maximum when you first receive it by careful hand winding, which of course you can do with most automatics. So far, I seem to be getting excellent accuracy - losing less than -1 second a day -3 seconds over the first week, which is pretty impressive. Highly recommended.

Good looking basic automatice wristwatch on a lesather strap. Very distinctive. Exactly what I wanted, and well priced to boot! Would definitely recommend.

The watch was everything I expected it to be. My Grandson will love it. Not sure what else I can say about it as its not me that will be wearing it, but it will look very classy on his wrist

I bought this watch for myself after a few weeks of research and browsing other brands/models from the micro brands to the mainstream, but kept coming back to this watch, I couldnt stop looking at it!

Inside it has a highly rated automatic Swiss ETA movement, which you can see through the exhibition window on the case back, which is a nice feature. The quality of construction and materials is excellent. The case is brushed stainless steel with a polished bezel which sets it apart from the quartz version which doesnt have the polished bezel. The face is clean and simple with clear and easy to read hour numerals and smaller 24 hour numerals on the inside, but still manages to keep it uncluttered.
The hands are clean and simple and I love the red tip on the second hand, it adds so much to the overall look.

I bought the 38mm version over the 42mm I have 7 wrists and prefer the look, I feel 42mm would be too big for this military style watch. I wasnt sure about the colour of the strap looking at the stock images online but it looks a lot nicer in real life, not as bright. The strap is good quality in terms of construction and materials used. Very comfortable and will take a beating, and will only look better with age.

Overall I am very pleased with this watch, and for the price its hard to beat, especially as the excellent movement can be found in many much more expensive watches.

Very good product. The bezel and the leather are very well finished. Just watch out for the size, this watch is quite small so it fits people with very small wrists skinny, if you think your wrist is average go for the 40mm or higher.

This is a really impressive watch. It looks like a watch several times the price, and Ive worn it for 5 days now with no real variation in time, an absolute maximum of -1 second. The estimate for mechanical watches unless you pay big money for a chronometer is up to 30 seconds gained/lost each day, so the accuracy of this watch so far is fantastic.

It just feels like a quality item, and the classic design grows on you more and more - attractive but unobtrusive. You can dress it up or down, it never looks out of place.

There are no negative things to say, its all good news so far.

Owned the watch about a week now,really pleased with it.38mm case suits my smaller wrist.the case is mainly finely brushed stainless steel with just a polished edge around the very slightly domed sapphire crystal face which looks great,love the see through case back,the automatic movement runs about 4 seconds fast a day,this can easliy be put right buy pulling out the crown to stop the watch.the watch can also be hand wound as well so you dont have to wear it all the time to keep it going.good quality brown leather strap with signed buckle,though would not recommend submerging strap in water if going swimming, I would replace it with a canvas strap which would look equally as good on this style of watch,if your looking for a great quality simple looking watch this could be the one to go for.

Having just taken delivery of a Hamilton Khaki Field 38 mm H70455533 automatic, I cant review its performance convincingly, save to say that it hasnt visibly gained or lost in 10 days, although thats a very rough-and-ready unscientific observation. What I can say with absolute certainty is that the watch is a handsome beast in a retro military style very similar to the ones supplied by Hamilton to the RAF, with some very nice detailing around the case brushed steel with a polished rim around the crystal and the face and a very good quality brown leather strap. And its amazingly low-priced for a high-quality timepiece. Buy it, youll love it. I do!

As my first mechanical watch, I wasnt sure what to expect. Having browsed around I fell in love with Hamilton and this model in particular. Its very simplistic but still very eye catching. The only warning I would say to people who havent owned a mechanical watch is the drift of the time compared to quartz watches. Saying that, the watch is only gaining approx 4 seconds per day which Ive been told is very good for the price. All in all, highly recommend for anyone wanting to step up from a regular quartz.

Great value and stylish watch, just the right size even on a larger size wrist. Dial is clear and easy to read, looks equally good with a suit or casual attire. The strap could be a little longer to make it perfect. Keeping good time so far and the hack feature makes it easy to set correctly.

Having been after this watch for a while I recently decided to make the purchase. 38mm is a good size possibly a little small for some compared to a lot of modern watches but anyone who isnt trying to compensate for something else will be more than happy. The dial is a lot more crisp and detailed than in the pictures. Nice brushed case with polished bezel makes it interesting on the eye. Particularly stiff strap, but due to the thickness Im sure it will bed in. Got a few quid off with a discount code. Nowhere near the discount available at a brick and mortar shop so try your high street first. Nowhere local to me had one. Cant be a better new main manufacturer watch out there at this price.

I had been thinking of getting a nice watch for a long time. But all the ones i happened to like were out of my budget until i discovered the Hamilton brand. When i saw their watches, i just knew i had to get one. I was going to pull the trigger on a x-wind but thought i should go for something more sensibledaily wear for my first watch. N this Hamilton was the perfect candidate. Also i have small wrists so could not go for bigger watches.

I couldnt be more happier to get this watch. build quality is fantastic, and for some reason i love the back of the watch more than the front. The open back is just amazing to look at.

I was looking for a watch that I could wear smart or casual. One that had saphire glass, a good leather strap and from a brand with some heritage. My budget was below £500
I found it! The Khaki Field automatic is not a wrist breaking size, which seems to be the trend now, but a comfortable 38mm. The dial is clear, although the lume hour and minute hands are fine in poorish light, its not so great in the dark. That would be my only negative. Overall I congratulate myself on my choice :-

My overall impression is that this watch will take some beating, in both senses of the word. Build quality is outstanding, I have to say that the quality of the leather is perhaps the most gorgeous of all the leather straps I’ve owned. Fantastic accuracy with it`s very highly regarded and ubiquitous ETA 2824-2 movement. Beautifully contoured and flawlessly finished case in brushed satin stainless steel with a plain polished steel bezel. Black dial. Not just any black, mind you. Not really dark grey masquerading as black. This one is as black as a black hole, providing an excellent contrast with the pure white numerals, indices and hands.The numerals are printed on a part of the dial etched with very fine grooves (like a record). This diffuses the light and makes the dial easy to read in any position as the uncoated sapphire crystal would normally be too reflective. The grooves are so fine they aren’t always visible, but I think they add a nice contrasting texture and the fact that it looks classy and well made and feels great on my wrist doesn`t hurt. For my money this watch is just about impossible to beat on many levels. It has everything to be expected in terms of versatility, classic styling, the use of highest quality materials and a specification and performance that puts much higher priced watches using the same movement (or any movement) to shame.

i got the watch delivered today and i must say im impressed...i like just about everything about this watch...regarding time keeping i cannot say much about it by now...after 6 hrs i had it on my wrist it runs 2s fast, something im fine with by now...second hand sweeps very very smoothly, leather strap is of a very high quality ...overall, recommended buy for everyone looking for a high quality watch which can be worn daily...

I could not be happier with this watch. I am but a lowly student so I had saved and scrimped for a long time for it and it has exceeded my expectations. It is light, subtly glows in the dark, has a smooth mechanism, easy to use, great auburn type colour to the great leather strap and is shiny. The only downside is that it is quite loud, its rapid ticking is very audible and when you move your wrist quickly it can rattle disconcertingly. Other than that, amazing value for a superb watch.

Excellent quality watch from Hamilton. Well proportioned, well made and styled in a classic and pleasing manner. This harks back to older watches from the post-war era in terms of styling, but combines this with very much up to date construction standards making it extremely wearable as a day to day piece. Very happy, and it won't be my last Hamilton.

What a superb watch!! It has a solid no nonsense build quality which combined with its reassuring weight, clear, uncluttered and easy to read face makes it a watch worth buying. I thik I may have to add another Hamilton watch to my Christmas list.

Its great to see Hamilton have stuck with their roots, looking for a military style watch i loved the look of the ww2 issue but wanted something new and that's when i found the Hamilton khaki field. great looking, very solid, the best quality leather I've seen on a watch. Its easy to read even at night the hands and numbers glow enough to read but not too much to look ridiculous. I can see this watch lasting a long long time, even though im a boilermaker it is resisting all abuse it gets through my job. All in all a great watch at a good price, that is a true military style watch unlike its huge, chunky, heavy, brightly lit competition.
