Great watch.
Quality item, fantastic build and weight but the face and strap proportions look much smaller in real life - if you have slim wrists, then this shouldnt be a problem - but it wasnt right for me.
I spent quite a long time selecting this watch and am happy with my purchase. I was looking for an automatic watch in the £400-600 price bracket with practical looks, a saphire crystal and that wasn't too big or too flashy. This watch has a high quality finish. There are a number of nice touches that convey a feeling of quality. For example there are different textures at play on dial that reveal a sophisticated finish when the light is caught at a certain angle. The red tip to the second hand is a nice touch. It has an unfussy no nonsense military/tool like feel. This watch will probably look quite ordinary to most people, but those with an interest will be able to appreciate the quality and brand.
this is my first automatic watch. After some research, it seems that the ETA 2824-2 movement is quite highly regarded and can be found in other watches from quality brands that are 2-4 or more times the price. It has been gaining about 6-8 seconds a day over the first week I have owned it and I understand that this is reasonable for this movement. It may improve as the watch "wears in". The sweeping second hand is very satisfying.
My only gripe is that the saphire crystal does not have an anti reflective coating. This combined with it domed shape means it always seems to be reflecting some light source from the environment at you. I was aware of this from other reviews before I ordered the watch and the lowish price combined with other positive and high spec features do more than make up for this in my opinion.
I would recommend this watch.
I'm very impressed with the quality of this watch. Very nice brushed finish on the case and strap, nice matt finish dial. I have small wrists (6 3/4") and it looks slightly smaller than its 38mm diameter would suggest (if that makes sense). Much more accurate than I expected, over 7 days it has gained 15 seconds. My Oris automatic gains nearly double that in a single day. On the negative side, the crystal is very reflective. Overall it compares very favourably to much more expensive watches. Highly recommended if you have small wrists.
