Fantastic item.
Looks as good as the images on web site.
Lots of comments.
Gold and titanium together look really good.
Beautiful and well working watch.
The wristband gets scratched pretty easily as expected from titanium.
Very light when compared to stainless steel watch.
4/5
Great watch, really light and got the looks and feel I wanted. Looking forward to using the funtions.
Very nice product and exactly what I expected. Excellent service from the Watch Shop. Item arrived in Matla 48 hours after purchase.
For anyone who has lingered over a Breitling, and then veered away from the pinball score price, this watch is a good alternative at a fraction of the cost. It has some of the look and features of an aviator's watch, and in common with many Seiko chronographs, comes in a variety of face colours and strap finishes.
The watch has a stopwatch feature that should not be left running for more than 2 hours per day, as prolonged use of it has an adverse affect on the battery life. When the stopwatch is triggered, it activates both a 60-second sweep hand and a smaller minute dial with 15 minute quadrants and individual minute markers. Pilots will find this useful.
The model I bought features gold detail to complement the brushed silver titanium finish, and dark blue face. The white numbers and gold minute markers show up well against this. Titanium is lighter than steel, and the watch definitely has less heft to it than a steel equivalent.
For reasons known only to Seiko, they have designed the strap in a way that does not allow the user to make minor size adjustments (there is no facility on the clasp to move the end of the strap to allow for a bigger or smaller wrist). Adjustments have to be done by adding or removing links - something probably best left to a jeweller. The strap has been designed with a gentle sweeping curve that blends in with the body of the watch, making it (to my eye) more attractive than the more brutalist design of a circular watch bisected by a strap.
The watch also features a Tachymeter. On the whole this has more visual than practical appeal, given that you need to be travelling at least 60 MPH (or whatever measure you choose), and be travelling between a known distance of a mile, or kilometre etc, before you can use it to verify your ground-speed. It will hardly a speedometer for anyone driving, but certainly adds to the overall look of a precision instrument. Given that purchase decisions are invariably emotional ones, it is easy to understand why the tachymeter, though essentially useless, has been included. Men love this sort of stuff, and we won't do without it.
The watch is water-resistant (note: not waterproof) to 10 bar, making it suitable (according to Seiko) for wearing while swimming, or in the bath. To me it makes as much sense to wear a new pair of shoes in the bath because you like them. Why anyone would really wish to do this is a mystery, but Seiko think that some purchasers are dying to do it, and so have accommodated their needs (provided you don't start messing about with the crown).
The presentation box is clean and functional. It contains an inner box for the watch (with the strap closed around a small cushion which serves to immobilise it). The manual, and manufacturer's guarantee that 99 out of 100 people will never fill in, slot into a space above or below the inner box for the watch.
The manual is about what you expect from a multilingual booklet - strong on diagrams, and less helpful on coherent detail. Working out how to set certain features is therefore something of a series of experiments.
For anyone seeking a chronograph with some aviator functions, good build quality, and stylish appearance, this model delivers. Only the silly omission of a user variable clasp on the strap prevented me from giving it an "Excellent" rating. In every other respect it either met or exceeded my expectations.
The watch itself looks good and although bought as a present for my little brother I think he is suitably pleased with its features. I know I'm supposed to review watchshops service but anyway. I'd left it until the day before my brothers birthday to order this watch and as promised it arrived the next morning.
Received this watch as a 40th birthday present today. Beautiful time piece, can be worn for dress or casual events. Especially like the colour of the watch face against the strap. Easy to set time, date and alarm.
